The proper repair for that is to replace all of the high presure fuel side and flush the low pressure side. A failure of the hpfp sends tiny little metal bits into the fuel injectors damaging them. It has started making a clicking/ticking sound that can be heard in the cab pretty good and once window is rolled down, it is even louder. It sounds like it is coming from the rear end or bed area. From what I understand it is the injection pump making noise, the new engines are so quiet that it is more audible but all duramaxes do it and is normal, never noticed on the LMM but very noticeable on the L5P. Some people do find different brand oil seems to quieten the noise some but experimentation is key for some because not all oils act the same in all engines..
